We first met briefly at an event in Jakarta back in 2015. It was a fleeting encounter — just one of those moments that didn’t seem significant at the time. Shortly after, I moved to Japan, and Arman continued living in Jakarta. From that point on, we lost contact and went on with our separate lives.
For nearly nine years, there was no communication between us.
Then, in January 2024, Arman reached out to me through Instagram. I saw his message but didn’t respond. The following month, in February, he sent another message. This time, curiosity got the better of me. I clicked on his profile — and to my surprise, I found a photo he had posted back in 2017. It was a picture of my hand holding a rosary at the Maria Cave in Japan. Seeing that photo stirred something in me, and I decided to reply.
That marked the beginning of our reconnection.
At first, I didn’t remember meeting him at all in 2015. But as our conversations deepened, memories of that night slowly started coming back — the party, the atmosphere. Still, I couldn’t recall actually speaking with him back then. Regardless, our chats became more frequent and heartfelt, and a bond began to form.
In July 2024, I returned to Indonesia for a vacation in Malang. The following month, I went back to my hometown. That very night, Arman came to see me — and just like that, we met in person again for the first time since 2015. From that moment on, our connection grew even stronger, and we officially began dating.
For our first date, we visited the statue of the Virgin Mary in Wolowio. I remember how Arman asked me to pray with him to the Holy Virgin Mary. He said, “Let’s pray so that our relationship will be guided and run smoothly.” That moment stayed with me.
But like any meaningful relationship, we faced challenges.
In October 2024, I traveled to Kupang. During that time, Arman and I had a major misunderstanding and almost broke up. We weren’t speaking, and I didn’t want to see him when I returned. But when I arrived at the airport, I was surprised to find him waiting for me — despite everything.
Coincidentally, a couple from Poland, who were on their honeymoon, asked if they could share a ride from the airport to their hotel. They ended up joining us in Arman’s car, which gave us no choice but to be around each other again. That unexpected moment helped break the silence between us.
After dropping off the tourists, Arman drove me home. That night, he met my father — and to my complete surprise, he told him that he wanted to marry me. I was deeply touched. I hadn’t expected him to take such a serious step, especially after the tension we had just gone through.
That moment changed everything. I realized how committed he truly was.
In November 2024, Arman and his family came to officially propose. Then, on December 14, 2024, we held our traditional engagement ceremony, surrounded by family and friends. We’re now looking forward to the next chapter of our journey together — our wedding on July 2, 2025.

“Staying married, therefore, is not mainly about staying in love. It is about keeping covenant. “Till death do us part” or “As long as we both shall live” is a sacred covenant promise—the same kind God made with His bride when He died for her.”
